  Sharing the
  Love of Christ

Missions is a very important part of the spiritual life of Wesley UMC. If you would like to be involved in any of the following mission projects, please call the church office.

Community Christmas Shoppe

Olde Providence Neighborhood churches work together to provide a Christmas shopping experience for parents who are short on funds to buy gifts for their children that they would otherwise not be able to afford.

Annual Pumpkin Patch

During the month of October the northwest corner of the church property is awash with pumpkins, gourds, corn stalks and hay bales.  For many families in this area, a trip to Wesley’s pumpkin patch has become an annual affair. All profits from the sale of pumpkin patch items go to support church mission projects.

Nothing But Nets

A global, grassroots campaign to save lives by preventing malaria, a leading killer of children in Africa. Send a net. Save a life. You can save a life by making a $10 donation at www.NothingButNets.net
.

Operation Christmas Child

A shoe box ministry which supplies underprivileged children with toys, candy and personal health care items. Wesley UMC helps in two ways. First, shoe boxes are packed and collected. Then volunteers travel to the Charlotte Operation Christmas Child processing center to work packing the boxes for shipment to overseas locations. You can find out more about OCC at their website.

A program of the Western North Carolina Conference which collects money for meals that are sent to those in need overseas.

Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina

As the largest hunger relief charity in the Metrolina area, Second Harvest works to end hunger by supplying a network of over 600 non-profit agencies and churches in 19 counties with food and essential grocery products. Look for the large barrel marked with the Food Bank sign located year-round in the Fellowship Hall. Your donation of non-perishable food items such as canned goods, peanut butter, rice, etc will help Second Harvest achieve their goal "Together we CAN end hunger". June 2008, 144 pounds of food was donated by Wesley to Second Harvest.

Flood Buckets and Flood Relief

To help those victims of the storms and floods in the Midwest, you can send your donation to the WNCC Treasurer,  P.O. Box 18005,Charlotte, NC 28218. Earmark the donation for UMCOR Advance #901670. You can find out more about flood buckets and flood relief efforts of the United Methodist Church at United Methodist Committee on Relief.
